Alexandros Centre of Holistic Education
A magical place nestled in an olive grove offers comfort and beauty a short walk from pristine Plaka Beach.
Overlooking a marvelous scenery of green hills and a panoramic view of the Aegean Sea, it witnesses the rhythms of nature from sunrise to sunset.
The center offers cognitive workshops as well as courses in body awareness: self inquiry, yoga and contemplation, dance, art, Radical Honesty psychology or experiential workshop on imminent climate change.
The rich vegetation in this area is nurtured by countless waterfalls and springs which flow through densely wooded hills. Just by following your senses you will encounter a plethora of aromatic herbs on the hiking paths, many of which have medical properties. Pelion has an ancient healing tradition going back to the wounded healer Chiron of Greek mythology. Scenic beaches, lush vegetation, springs of crystal clear water and a large variety of fruits and flowers, all compose a unique picture of the magic of nature.
An intentional authentic community is holding a place of transformative quality.
A bright, 90 sqm2 ground floor with a clean aesthetic offers an ideal space for intimate workshops as well as for dancing and various body- activities. For smaller groups who appreciate a quiet, intimate space we offer a yurt. A new sanctuary has been constructed like a bid’s nest in the olive grove .
The front lawn with a wide and spectacular view to the daily sunrises invites also for meditation, yoga, thai chi or creative writing. Early risers walk down to the sea for a swim. Groups who look for a closer contact to nature appreciate the outside area for their sessions.
A three-story building of traditional design, Alexandros has 7 en suite twins, 1-2 en suite single rooms, 1 triple room, all with fantastic sea views and balcony except of the triple room. We can accommodate and care for a total of 20 – 25 people.
The large 90 sqm2 wooden studio-room serves as a shared community and workshop space that is airy, light and very languorous with a fireplace on a fresh spring or September day.
Our space is held by a community of individuals from all parts of the world, mainly England, Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, the States
Alexandros is run by and as a full community comprising the unpaid volunteer staffers and guests. You’ll be joining the cooking team once in the week, and helping with clean up or gardening. The work is not onerous, 6-7 hr in the week. This makes our programs more affordable and helps us build community together.
